Artificial grass that survives a dog.
All ten ranges below are safe for dogs and cats — there is no toxic option in the shed. Every range we stock is tested for restricted heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium) using the EN 62321 test methods, and for UV and weather resistance to EN 14836. The real question is which one holds up to your animal, and what happens to the smell. Three honest answers, then the ten ranges we keep in stock at Malaga.
01 / The smell
Will it hold the wee?
No — urine drains straight through the backing. What holds the smell is what sits underneath: a compacted base with nowhere to drain, or the wrong infill. We lay a free-draining base and finish with Aguachill Sand, which is the part you can hose down.
02 / The damage
Will the dog dig it up?
Dogs dig at edges, not in the middle. The fix is in the install — pinned and glued perimeter, joins under tension. For heavy diggers, weight matters more than pile height: Coast 35 at 3,020 g/m² or Oasis 35 at 3,420 take claws far better than a light 25mm.
03 / The heat
Is it too hot in summer?
Above about 33°C, every synthetic lawn on the market feels warm underfoot — including the ones sold as “cool”. Two of ours genuinely shed heat faster, and Aguachill Sand brings the surface temperature down further. That is the honest version.
