Composite decking · Dura solid range
Dura is the solid core board. Denser underfoot, less movement through a hot Perth summer, six colours, $92 a board and a 25 year warranty.

Why solid
A solid composite board has no voids running through it. It is heavier, stiffer between joists and it moves less as the temperature swings, which in Perth means a deck that looks the same in February as it did in July.
That matters most where the deck is exposed: west facing entertaining areas, pool surrounds, spa platforms, long spans and anywhere heavy furniture or planters sit in one spot. It also sounds different. A solid board is quiet underfoot where a hollow board can read slightly hollow.
If the budget is the deciding factor and the deck is a normal domestic size out of direct afternoon sun, the Dura-Eco hollow core board does the same job for less.

Colours
All six are the same board at the same price. Colour is the only decision. Full length boards are on display at both showrooms, which is the only reliable way to judge them.
$92 per 5.4 m board
Warm mid brown with a visible grain. The closest to a traditional hardwood deck.
$92 per 5.4 m board
Cool mid grey. Suits rendered walls, black window frames and modern builds.
$92 per 5.4 m board
Deeper and redder than Teak, with more contrast in the grain.
How it works
Both showrooms hold full rolls and full length boards. Screen colour is not reliable for decking.
We check the levels, the falls and what the deck will sit on, then write a fixed quote.
Aluminium or treated timber subframe, or adjustable pedestals over concrete and balconies. This is what decides whether the deck stays flat.
Hidden clips, fascia to close the edges, and the site left clean.
Doing it yourself? Every colour, fascia board and fixing is available by the board from the decking shop, and trade buyers with an ABN can open a trade account for net pricing.
Questions
The core is solid rather than hollow. It is heavier, stiffer across the joists and it moves less with temperature, so the deck holds its line through summer.
It warms up in direct sun, the same as any dark surface including timber and paving. The lighter colours run cooler than the dark ones, and shade makes more difference than the board you pick.
The tone settles a little over the first year or two and then holds. Patchy or streaky fading is not normal and is what the 25 year warranty is there for.
Yes. There are sample pieces you can take away, but we would rather you came and looked at full length boards in daylight at Malaga or Jandakot. A 100 mm sample does not show how a colour reads across a whole deck.
From $330 per square metre supplied and installed, subframe included. The rate moves with the height off the ground, the substrate and how much shaping the deck needs.
