Composite decking · Dura-Eco range
Dura-Eco is the hollow core board in our range. Same 5.4 metre length and 135 mm face as the solid boards, $66 a board, and the same 25 year warranty.

What the lower price buys
Dura-Eco costs less than the solid Dura board because the core is hollow, not because the material is cheaper. The face, the colour through the board and the 25 year warranty are the same. What changes is weight, stiffness and how the board feels underfoot.
On a normal domestic deck at standard joist spacing that difference is not something you notice walking on it. Where it does matter is long spans, heavy planters, spa surrounds and commercial traffic. For those we put the solid Dura board in the quote instead.
Both boards are 5400 mm long, 135 mm wide and 22.5 mm thick, so they take the same clips, the same fascia and the same subframe. You can run Dura-Eco over the main deck and solid Dura on a step or a bench top without anything looking mismatched.
What you order
Everything below is priced supply only and can be bought by the board from the decking shop. If you would rather we build it, an installed quote covers the subframe as well.
$66 per 5.4 m board
Hollow core, 135 mm face, wood grain finish. The value board in the range.
$92 per 5.4 m board
Solid core, six colours, less movement in summer heat. The step up.
From $6
Start clips, middle clips, stainless screws and adjustable pedestals for hard surfaces.
How it works
Length by width in metres. A board covers 5.4 m by 135 mm, so allow about 1.4 boards per square metre once the gaps are in.
One fascia board per running metre of exposed edge, plus clips and screws. The decking shop lists these by the pack.
Supply only is board price alone. Installed from $330 per square metre covers the subframe, the fixings and the labour.
We come out, check levels, falls and what the deck sits on, and write a fixed quote against what is actually there.
Not sure which board suits the job? Bring the measurements into the Malaga or Jandakot showroom and stand on both. Full length boards are on display, not samples. Addresses and hours.
Questions
No. The material, the colour and the 25 year warranty are the same. The core is hollow, so the board is lighter and flexes a little more between joists. On a standard domestic deck at normal joist spacing that is not something you feel.
A board is 5400 mm by 135 mm. Once the expansion gap between boards is allowed for, budget about 1.4 boards for every square metre, then add the offcuts.
Yes. Both are 135 mm wide and 22.5 mm thick and use the same clips, so they sit flush. A common approach is Dura-Eco across the main deck and solid boards on steps or a bench.
The board itself against the things that should not happen to a composite board in Perth sun, including fade beyond the normal settling of tone, splitting and rot. It is our warranty and we are the ones who come back.
Not in composite. Below this price you are into timber, which costs less to buy and more to keep, because it needs oiling or staining every year or two.
