The project
Buttercups Childcare Early Learning Centre in Eglinton asked Jay’s Playground Solutions for an outdoor area that could take heavy daily use and still look bright years later. We installed a large wet pour rubber playground in a bold multi-colour design, with sweeping cream, green and tan shapes flowing around a central timber climbing fort and slide.
Artificial grass runs along the edges and into the quieter corners, a blue rubber creek bed leads through the garden beds, and a separate sand play zone and timber cubby with a red slide give the younger children a space of their own. Shade sails cover the main play area so the surface stays cool through a Perth summer.
Wet pour rubber is seamless, permeable and impact absorbing, which makes it the practical surface for a childcare yard of this size — easy to clean, quick to dry, and forgiving when children fall.
