A Montessori playground in Joondalup with soft fall rubber pathways, artificial grass mounds and a shaded sand play area.
The project
Tadala Montessori in Joondalup wanted an outdoor area that matched the way Montessori children move — freely, and at their own pace. Jay’s Playground Solutions laid soft fall rubber pathways that loop through the yard, so children can walk, run and ride between activity zones on one continuous, impact-absorbing surface.
Artificial grass mounds give the flat block some height and let the younger children practise balance and climbing without any equipment at all. A shaded sand play area sits to one side, and the rubber pathways run right up to it, so the change of surface is level and easy to see.
Soft fall rubber and artificial grass are a practical pairing for a Montessori yard: both drain quickly after Perth rain, neither needs mowing or topping up, and both stay usable right through summer.
