Completed playground project
Canning Vale, Western Australia
An 8.6 m × 6.2 m all-natural timber playspace with elevated platforms, net bridges, a white sand base and shade sails.
The project
Shining Kidz Early Learning Centre in Canning Vale asked Jay’s Playground Solutions for a single large play structure to anchor the outdoor area. The finished structure measures 8.6 m long, 6.2 m wide and 3.5 m high, and is built entirely from sustainably sourced natural timber.
Elevated timber platforms are linked by net bridges and climbing walls, so children can move around the structure at height by routes of different difficulty. A gently contoured white sand base runs underneath, and crawl tunnels, wide steps and low entry points mean the youngest children can use the structure too.
Shade sails in primary colours cover the play area, keeping the timber and the sand comfortable to touch through summer while giving the yard its colour.
