Soft fall rubber · Supply and installation
Wet pour rubber, bonded rubber mulch, EPDM and TPV granules, binder and gym mats. Buy the materials on their own, or have us lay the surface and run a Play Check on it.

How a soft fall surface is built
A wet pour soft fall surface is laid in two layers. Underneath is a thicker shock pad of SBR granules bound with polyurethane, and that layer is what absorbs the fall. On top is a thinner wear layer of EPDM or TPV granules, which is where the colour and the finished texture come from.
The total depth is set by the fall height of the equipment it sits under, not by preference. Higher equipment needs a deeper pad. That is the single most important number on a playground quote, and it is why we measure the equipment before pricing the surface.
Bonded rubber mulch is the loose-look alternative: the same binder, larger shredded rubber, laid in one layer. It reads as a softer, more natural surface and suits nature play areas and garden edges.
| Shock pad | SBR granules bound with polyurethane binder |
|---|---|
| Wear layer | EPDM or TPV granules, colour through the granule |
| Depth | Set by the fall height of the equipment above it |
| Alternative | Bonded rubber mulch, laid as a single layer |
| Indoor | Gym mats and rubber flooring for fit-outs |
| Trade | Net pricing with a verified ABN |

Shredded bonded rubber. A softer, more natural look than wet pour, laid in one layer.
From $19
Soft fall granule supplied by the unit for centres and contractors doing their own work.
How it works
Area in square metres, plus the highest point a child can reach on the equipment. The fall height sets the depth.
EPDM for most jobs, TPV where the surface takes constant heavy use. SBR goes underneath either way.
Both layers are mixed with polyurethane binder. Tell us the area and the depth and we will work out the drums for you.
Supply only ships or is collected from Malaga or Jandakot. Installed work includes the base, the pour and a Play Check.

Questions
It is set by the fall height of the equipment above it, not by the size of the area. The higher the equipment, the deeper the pad. We measure the equipment before pricing the surface.
Both are coloured granules for the top wear layer. TPV is harder wearing and holds colour better under constant use, and it costs more. EPDM suits most childcare and school yards.
Yes, and it is a good substrate because it is already stable. What matters is that water can still get away, so falls and drainage are checked before the pour.
Bonded rubber mulch is a certified soft fall surface when it is laid to the right depth. It reads as more natural and is often used in nature play areas and under lower equipment.
